Week 2 Response Free Response

With the start of the Winter Olympics over the weekend, the games have been the buzz all week. Especially the terrible design of pretty much everything in Sochi. And when I say everything, I mean everything. I haven't talked to any one who has said "hey Russia did a great job constructing [something important]."
Are you kidding me? They didn't even have time to construct individual stalls. Half the hotels aren't even finished yet. Shaun White, easily the greatest snowboarder in the game, took himself out of an event because the course was so crappily made that he didn't feel safe.

THE FIFTH RING DIDN'T EVEN OPEN. How are you supposed to represent your country well in arguably the most important display of nationalism and pride when you can't even get the opening ceremony right?

The entire Sochi games so far has been a shining example of how good design can crumble without the appropriate work and support. I'm Russia did the appropriate planning when designing the layout of the games. However, their lack of execution jeapordized the entire operation.
